There is such a revolution taking place in ICT these past few years and on for the next 5 with the standardization in protocol to IP based systems. SIP for telephony and the subsequent developments to converge everything. Thus we are making the user experience much simpler and faster and flexible, but to get to this what sits behind is far from simple. Hence it pays to have someone else who knows what they are doing to manage the environment for you.

All the new developments, changes, security, training, all that stuff, and as we become greener (not seen a green blog here yet Mr Steam) so these hosted platforms become more relevant.
